Change theory is like a step-by-step plan that shows us how our actions can make great improvements in society. We use it to help eradicate hunger this way.

INDEPENDENCE
In order to preserve its moral and economic independence, Action Against Hunger acts according to its own principles and never according to the interests of domestic, external or governmental politics.

NEUTRALITY
Action Against Hunger operates from a position of strict political and religious neutrality and impartiality. However, it may be led to denounce any human rights violations that it witness, or any obstacles that aim to hinder the successful deployment of its humanitarian mission.

NON-DISCRIMINATION
Action Against Hunger rejects, in its action, any discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, sex, religion, nationality, opinion or social class.

FREE AND DIRECT ACCESS TO VICTIMS
Action Against Hunger bases its interventions on the demand for free access to victims and direct control of its programmes, ensuring the means to achieve this. It verifies that resources reach beneficiaries directly. Under no circumstances will the partners with whom it works in the field be the direct beneficiaries of its programmes.

PROFESSIONALISM
Action Against Hunger bases the design, implementation, management and evaluation of its programmes on the professionalism and experience of its human resources, in order to optimize the effectiveness and correct utilization of its resources.

TRANSPARENCY
Action Against Hunger undertakes, in front of its beneficiaries, collaborators and donors, to respect transparency and information on the destination and management of the funds received, and to provide all guarantees to verify their good management.

THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER REQUIRES A GLOBAL VISION AND ACTION
Action Against Hunger is a global network with offices in Canada, France, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.
- Each member of Action Against Hunger is legally independent, but we all share a common mandate, values, operational principles, quality standards and strategy.
- The distribution of project management by country allows us to reduce costs and achieve greater efficiency in our actions. International coordination in the analysis of contexts, in the research of more efficient intervention systems, and in the search for the most appropriate human resources gives us greater capacity for impact.
- The international dimension also allows us to reach public opinion more easily. We project our voice across the globe to communicate a common message: hunger has a solution.
The Board of Trustees is our governing body. Every year we are accountable to it for our work. None of the members receive remuneration, which guarantees their independence. The Board of Trustees monitors the effectiveness of our performance and validates our budgets annually. It also ensures that accountability mechanisms are properly enforced: not only those required by law, but also those that we owe to all of you who place your trust in us.
