Our activity

In 2022, Action Against Hunger concluded its project to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, providing media and information to nearly 70 000 people to protect themselves from the virus. In addition, support was provided to 56 health centres in Montserrado counties, where the capital, Margibi and Nimba are located, to strengthen infection prevention and control. At the same time, the third phase of the PROSSAN project began in May, focused on improving sexual and reproductive health, especially among adolescents in Montserrado.

Action Against Hunger also launched the second phase of the WINS project in eight of the country’s 15 counties, providing direct nutritional interventions and educational programmes. As leader of the Liberia Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Consortium, the organization completed the second phase and began the third phase, addressing the causes of undernutrition, improving livelihoods, access to safe food and sanitation, and strengthening basic health care services. In addition, evidence-based testing was conducted to prevent stunting, and water points were built and rehabilitated in communities in Montserrado County, with the support of private donors.
