Humanitarian context
The most vulnerable people continue to be under severe economic pressure, which has resulted in increased indebtedness and dependency on humanitarian aid. Poor coping strategies also proliferate, mental health challenges persist, and gender equality regresses. In parallel, the country continues to face increasing climate challenges.

Our activity
Action Against Hunger helped vulnerable refugees and host communities become more self-reliant through a phased project. It combined financial assistance with strengthening guidance pathways and local capacities to address mental health needs. In addition, the organization supported comprehensive livelihood interventions. It also created short-term employment opportunities for vulnerable Jordanian households and refugees and improved working conditions for informal workers in the waste sector.
Action against Hunger worked to ensure that vulnerable households were connected to public water networks and contributed to the adoption of good hygiene practices and sustainable water management techniques. In the Azraq camp, for example, we improved hygiene, water use and the maintenance of private latrines thanks to community participation. We also supported municipal services in managing solid and organic waste.
WHERE WE HELP
We help 24.5 million people each year. We work in 55 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe, those most threatened by hunger.
