ADVOCACY
WE CANNOT END HUNGER ALONE
We work to influence policies, programmes and budgets that can reduce hunger.
Action Against Hunger's advocacy and institutional relations aim to bring about lasting changes in policy, practice and intervention capacities to end hunger and malnutrition, and especially acute malnutrition in children under five, by influencing political and economic decision-makers and mobilising public support.
RESEARCH AND STUDY
Action Against Hunger conducts research and studies to understand the causes and consequences of malnutrition, and uses this knowledge to influence government policies and programmes at the national and international levels.
We produce reports such as this one, entitled "It doesn't matter who the parties to the conflict are. Hunger always wins."
Our humanitarian advocacy is based on five fundamental pillars:
- Expand treatment, prevention and diagnosis of acute malnutrition.
- Mitigate the effects of seasonal hunger and recurrent crises.
- Promote sustainable access to food and basic water, sanitation and hygiene services to prevent acute malnutrition and build resilience.
- Drive change in humanitarian issues worldwide.
- Develop Action Against Hunger's advocacy to its full potential.
Our advocacy is based on humanitarian principles, the needs of vulnerable people and evidence. It has a rights-based approach, fosters partnership-building and is results and policy change-oriented.
