RECRUITMENT PHASES

Each application is assessed to ensure that it aligns with our criteria, both for the position applied for and for other open vacancies.

You may need to complete a technical test. The test allows us to evaluate how candidates solve problems and complete tasks. These tests are timed and usually last two to three hours.

At least two will be carried out. The first one will be with the recruitment team and a second one with the person assigned by the corresponding technical department or by the person in charge or supervisor. Depending on the position, you may be invited to additional interviews.

Your references will be contacted to verify their employment, character, skills and previous experience. We will always ask for your permission to contact them

Action Against Hunger is committed to preventing any unwanted behaviour at work, including sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and/or financial malpractice; we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment and share our code of conduct and other related policies, as only those who share our values and code of conduct will be recruited to work at our organisation.

  • Technical test: A technical test may be required. The test allows us to evaluate how candidates solve problems and complete tasks. These tests are usually timed and usually last two to three hours.
  • Interviews: All selection processes consist of at least two interviews. The first is done by the selection department and will be an interview by competencies. For some positions, Action Against Hunger requires candidates to complete a technical test. Technical tests provide an opportunity to demonstrate your skills. They are also one of the methods we use to evaluate how you act in real field situations. Through this test, we can evaluate your experience first-hand and determine if you have the fundamental skills to meet our professional requirements.

Yes. If you have gone through the previous steps of the hiring process, we will notify you before contacting your references. So you can inform them that they will receive a phone call or an email from our HR team.

It is useful for us to hear how you solve problems in a real environment. By talking to a former/present supervisor, we can evaluate your professional development and learn about your growth from someone who has seen it first-hand. We always ask for at least two references.

Usually, the selection process will be completed in three or four weeks. The process could be quicker if we need to fill an urgent vacancy and it could take longer if any of the people involved in the process are not immediately available.

If you are interested in working with Action Against Hunger, you must apply for a specific vacancy on our website. This allows us to ensure that the same selection process is followed for all candidates. This is not only fair, but it ensures that we find the best candidates for the available vacancies.

If someone who currently works or previously worked with Action Against Hunger alerts you about a vacancy, you may consider asking them to be one of your references. These people will be contacted if you reach this step in the recruitment process.

All candidates may be asked to provide copies of their diplomas and other professional qualifications. We reserve the right to request verification of the dates and scope of any prior employment you have mentioned in your application. Any information you provide to Action Against Hunger that is subsequently determined to be falsified or unverifiable will be grounds for cancelling participation in a selection process or terminating the employment contract.
